Coaching Your Clients Through a Life-Altering Diagnosis

This presentation equips coaches with strategies to support clients facing life-altering diagnoses using Positive Intelligence (PQ) and the Power of Just Being.

Key Concepts:

  • Life-Altering Diagnoses trigger fear, uncertainty, and overwhelm, often leading to reactive decision-making.
  • Positive Intelligence (PQ) helps shift clients from self-sabotaging patterns (Judge, Victim, Hyper-Achiever, Avoider) to a Sage Mindset (Empathy, Exploration, Innovation, Navigation, Activation).
  • Just Being encourages presence and emotional processing before taking action, reducing impulsivity and promoting clarity.
  • Moving from Being to Doing allows for intentional, self-compassionate action guided by inner wisdom.

Coaching Application:

  • Identify and reframe Saboteur-driven thoughts.
  • Help clients pause and process emotions before making decisions.
  • Use powerful questions to guide clients toward purposeful action.

Takeaways:

  • PQ strengthens resilience and supports a mindset shift from fear to wisdom.
  • Just Being fosters clarity, preventing burnout and reactive choices.
  • Empowered action arises naturally when clients are grounded in the present moment.

The session concludes with reflection, group discussion, and strategies for integrating these approaches into coaching practices.
