Take Five
We all experience the hustle and bustle of a busy life. Sometimes, we find ourselves in a game of Tetris trying to fit all of our appointments, meetings, errands, and, well, life into neat little boxes on our calendars. And we're getting pretty good at it with so much practice. But life, and particularly coaching, is not meant to be a "game" of fitting all the pieces in just the right spots. We need to be sure to schedule time for ourselves and for our clients—and that means time for prep and time for presence.
Make a practice of taking just five minutes to prepare for your next meeting, your next appointment, or your next conversation. It might not sound like much, but it will make all the difference in your feeling of calm, connection, and collaboration. You'll feel it and your thinking partner will feel it too. So next time you're feeling rushed, just take a breath and take five.
