Black History Month: A Celebration of Black Coaches

In 1976, President Gerald R. Ford declared Black History Month as a national observance, encouraging the public to acknowledge the achievements of Black Americans and their contributions to society. Ten years later, Congress passed legislation that made February the official month for the annual public and private celebration of Black history. The month provides an occasion to delve deeper into history and learn more about Black leaders who bravely fought for change and equality, even at the cost of their own well-being.

February is a month to pay tribute to the contributions of Black coaches, thought leaders, and changemakers who have made a significant impact on our profession. It's also a great opportunity to promote diversity, raise awareness, and create a welcoming and appreciative environment for everyone.
