The aim of this special interest group is to develop skills for coaches who already work or aspire to work with professionalism, confidence and fluency in English as their second language.
You will have the opportunity to practice coaching and other work-related situations such as making presentations and networking in a safe, supportive space. You’ll receive immediate feedback on your performance as well as specific follow up work for improvement.
Aside from this, there will be the opportunity to discuss and deepen your understanding of issues related to coaching in a second language such as intercultural communication and the effect on core competencies.
Participating in this SIG can increase your international network, building support, accountability and motivation to expand your horizons by working at a high standard in English.
The group facilitator is Fran Smith, PCC, who holds a Masters in Teaching English as a Second Language and has over twenty years’ experience preparing people to use English in the workplace. She coaches and facilitates on international platforms and projects in both English and Portuguese. Since becoming a coach, Fran has been supporting coaches to use English as a second language professionally.

Whether you have your own coaching business or you support employees, women, or marginalized community members internally, you likely are driven to help others tame critical self-talk and communicate with confidence, clarity, and conviction because your journey to voice has been… complicated. As a coach, you probably embody the motto – we coach on what we have had to learn and what we are committed to remembering. In this webinar, speaking and thought leadership coach, Alexia Vernon, will show you how to level-up from a coach to a trusted and in-demand thought leader. You will not only learn how to bring a “coach approach” to your visibility so you can call in more aligned individual and/or organizational clients, you will also develop tools to help the people you work with fall (back) in love with their voices and speak up for the ideas and issues they care about.
