Welcome Message from our President, Valeska Martins |

Dear ICF South Florida Community,
June arrives with the warmth of summer and the glow of our recent victories! As we transition into this vibrant season of growth and expansion, I'm filled with immense pride reflecting on the extraordinary momentum we've built together.
What a remarkable month May turned out to be! Our pioneering presence at The Business Show Miami exceeded every expectation. With over 80 visitors stopping at our stand, we witnessed something truly powerful—genuine curiosity about coaching's transformative potential. Professionals from diverse industries engaged in meaningful conversations about coaching benefits for organizations and the distinctive value of ICF-credentialed coaches.
|
This wasn't just about visibility; it was about education, connection, and opening minds to the gold standard of coaching.
The energy was electric as we connected with renowned coaches like Janet Harvey, whose masterclasses brilliantly showcased the impact of coaching in the workplace. These encounters reinforced our mission: bridging the gap between exceptional coaching and the business world that truly needs our expertise.
Our International Coaching Week proved equally transformative. By innovatively expanding our reach to HR professionals, leaders, and educational professionals alongside coaches, we created something special. The diverse programming sparked reflection, introduced cutting-edge methodologies, and delivered practical business-building insights. One member's words capture it perfectly: "Valeska, it is amazing how ICFSFL is diverse in everything we do, ICW is a proof of it, and all the presentations were nothing less than excellent! I love this chapter!"
As May concluded, we seized yet another opportunity at the Small Business Fair at Miami Dade College, organized by United Way Miami. Each event strengthens our commitment to positioning our members not just as coaches, but as leaders in the business of coaching.
This summer, we're building on this powerful foundation. Our Msterclasses continue providing exceptional learning opportunities, and I'm thrilled to announce the launch of our Group Super-Vision program—because we aim for nothing less than excellence in coaching. The coming months will unveil even more opportunities to expand your skills in the business dimensions of coaching.
June embodies the essence of summer growth: the perfect time to cultivate the seeds we've planted, nurture the connections we've made, and prepare for an abundant harvest of professional opportunities. Just as summer brings longer days filled with possibility, we're extending your horizons with unprecedented pathways to success.
Join us as we make this summer a season of professional flourishing!

BE 2.0
(Beyond Entrepreneurship 2.0): Turning Your Business into an Enduring Great Company
Jim Collins &William Lazier |
From Jim Collins, the most influential business thinker of our era, comes an ambitious upgrade of his classic, Beyond Entrepreneurship, that includes all-new findings and world-changing insights.
What's the roadmap to create a company that not only survives its infancy but thrives, changing the world for decades to come?
Nine years before the publication of his epochal bestseller Good to Great, Jim Collins and his mentor, Bill Lazier, answered this question in their bestselling book, Beyond Entrepreneurship.
Beyond Entrepreneurship left a definitive mark on the business community, influencing the young pioneers who were, at that time, creating the technology revolution that was birthing in Silicon Valley. Decades later, successive generations of entrepreneurs still turn to the strategies outlined in Beyond Entrepreneurship to answer the most pressing business questions.
BE 2.0 is a new and improved version of the book that Jim Collins and Bill Lazier wrote years ago. In BE 2.0, Jim Collins honors his mentor, Bill Lazier, who passed away in 2005, and reexamines the original text of Beyond Entrepreneurship with his 2020 perspective.
The book includes the original text of Beyond Entrepreneurship, as well as four new chapters and fifteen new essays. BE 2.0 pulls together the key concepts across Collins' thirty years of research into one integrated framework called The Map. The result is a singular reading experience, which presents a unified vision of company creation that will fascinate not only Jim's millions of dedicated readers worldwide, but also introduce a new generation to his remarkable work.

Systemic Team Coaching: The Power of “We” in Uncertain Times
Katya Talavera de Ward, PCC, ITCA
Senior Practitioner in Systemic Team Coaching (GTCI)
In today’s volatile, complex world, teams aren’t just collections of individuals—they’re living systems. During this year’s International Coaching Week, I witnessed coaches converge, lean in, listen deeply, and co-create breakthroughs in real time. That’s the essence of teaming, and as a senior Systemic Team Coaching (STC) practitioner, I’ve seen how it reshapes mindsets, cultures, and performance from the inside out. In teams that embrace systemic thinking, challenges become springboards for collective creativity rather than sources of friction.
|
What Is Teaming?
Teaming transcends simple collaboration. It’s an intentional practice of inviting diverse voices into a dynamic conversation and mapping how each part influences the whole. Instead of handing down solutions, we cultivate an environment where questions spark discovery and differences fuel fresh perspectives. When we shift from solo expertise to shared ownership, innovative ideas ignite—and with them, deeper trust, psychological safety, and resilience emerge. This collective intelligence drives breakthroughs in ways no individual effort can match. Read and Learn More... |

It’s hard to believe it’s already June! Summer invites us to exhale, reconnect, and reflect—and what a start to this year we’ve had.
International Coaching Week was a powerful success, thanks to the radiant leadership of Nada Haddad, our 2025 ICW Chair, and the unwavering support of Eric Goeres, our VP of Marketing & Communications. As Nada carried the vision, Eric was always nearby with steadiness and solutions. A rising tide lifts all boats—and wow, did they lift us.The Spring Summit was a standout! Huge thanks to Reet Khurana for bringing grace, warmth, and orchestral-level scheduling magic to it all.
And the MCxMCCs MasterClass? Electric. Deep bows to Elias Scultori for welcoming new Master Coaches into our orbit and reminding us what masterful coaching can be. Stay tuned, as the year only gets better! MCxMCCs is the first Wednesday of each month at 8:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.
To each of you who have hosted an event for ICF South Florida, you have my sincere gratitude. These events cannot happen without you. A special shout out to Dr. Loubna Noureddin for hosting our first in-person events since lockdown! Woot! Coach A Latte is back, and there will be more!
If you’ve reached out and haven’t heard back from me yet—thank you for your patience. I’ll be in touch soon. We've been building the plane and runway as we've been learning to fly. I do believe we're finally getting close to cruising altitude. I’d love to reconnect and hear your ideas, dreams, and plans.
Finally, if you’re looking to join something joyful, meaningful, and full of heart—come play with us in the Programming Committee. The water’s warm.
With gratitude & possibility,

A heartfelt note from ICF SFL 2025 Chair of ICW
I'd like to include a message from Nada Haddad, ICF South Florida Chair of ICW. It shows the value of a strong purpose and big heart. She coordinated all of this for you and ICF SFL from France!
"International Coaching Week reminded me why I’m drawn to initiatives like this. Opportunities to step out of the solitude that coaching can sometimes bring and into spaces where connection, creativity, and shared purpose come alive.
|
For me, being a coach is not only about holding space for others; it’s also about staying engaged with the broader coaching community, contributing to the growth of our profession, and continuing to grow myself.
One of the most energizing parts of ICW was meeting so many fellow coaches who showed up as presenters, each bringing their unique voice, perspective, and expertise to the table. It was inspiring to witness the collective talent and generosity within our field.
Participating in and programming ICW was a meaningful way to reconnect, exchange ideas, and be part of something larger than any one conversation."
Nada Haddad, PCC

| | Thank you note from the Membership Committee
What a wonderful time we had during our ICW Virtual Cocktail Hour! It was such a joy to see our members come together in a relaxed, playful atmosphere where we could step away from the formal presentations and simply connect as people.
From pirate hats to colorful cocktails, everyone embraced the fun spirit of the evening while sharing stories, laughter, and getting to know each other on a deeper level. These moments of genuine connection remind us why our coaching community is so special – it's not just about professional development, but about the meaningful relationships we build along the way.
Thank you to everyone who joined us and brought such wonderful energy to the celebration. Here's to more opportunities to connect, play, and grow together!

Zumba & Wellness Morning: Moving Together Toward Well-Being
As part of our ongoing commitment to supporting holistic wellness, the Well-Being Department hosted a vibrant Zumba & Wellness Morning to celebrate movement, connection, and emotional renewal.
We began our day at the dog park with an energetic Zumba session, focusing on physical well-being—moving joyfully and releasing tension. We then transitioned into spiritual well-being through a grounding Chi Kung practice, surrounded by nature and led with intention and care.
To close, we shared a beautiful community picnic, honoring our relational well-being through conversation, food, and presence. This full-circle experience reminded us of the power of movement, stillness, and connection in cultivating positive emotions and emotional balance—essentials for coaches and leaders alike.
A heartfelt thank-you to the Well-Being Department for creating this space to reset, recharge, and reconnect—with ourselves and each other.
Thank you,
